When power failure is unacceptable
A Diesel Rotary UPS (DRUPS) power module consists of (1) a diesel engine, (2) induction coupling and (3) alternator mounted on a solid base frame.
In utility mode the UPS system acts as a power conditioner and active filter in combination with the reactor (or choke coil), eliminating brief interruptions, spikes and sags from the utility supply. If the utility supply fails, the UPS system takes over the supply of power immediately, without any interruption or disturbance. It can provide back-up power as long as there is diesel fuel available.
| Alternator |
Regulates the output voltage and generates clean and continuous power for your load.

| Induction coupling |
Stores the kinetic energy necessary to support the load between the loss of the utility supply and the start of the diesel. It also allows the UPS to maintain critical frequency specifications during diesel operation.

| Diesel engine |
Starts automatically when the UPS system detects a fault in the utility supply. In combination with the induction coupling, the diesel engine is able to take over the supply of power from the utility supply without interruption.

| Base frame |
Alternator, induction coupling and diesel engine are mounted on a solid base frame that can be split for transport and installation. Vibration dampers under the frame isolate the building from vibrations.

| Freewheel clutch |
Automatically connects the diesel engine to the induction coupling when the diesel engine has come up to speed.

| Reactor (choke coil) |
Operates in combination with the alternator as a mains filter and prevents irregularities in the utility supply from passing through to the load.

| Control system |
The UPS system is fully automatic and easy to operate due to its modern controls. Readings and signals are clearly displayed. Remote monitoring software is integrated in the controls and autocall functionality can also be integrated at customer request.
