Always connected
In 1956 Hitec Power Protection was the first to patent the rotary UPS concept and to launch the first 20 kVA No-Break UPS system to protect the power supply for the Royal Dutch Telecom Company (now KPN). Today Hitec Power Protection is the main provider of power quality equipment to the worlds largest telecommunication companies. Continuous power supply is critical for the success of telecom providers. These providers extend and increasingly integrate their services to so called triple play application and unified communication, which includes wireless technology. Analogue technology transfers to digital technology, resulting in data centres becoming key assets for telecom providers. Availability of communication is not only crucial from an economical perspective, but also in respect to safety, for example during natural disasters or incidents that threaten national security. ![]()
